Days 11 - 15 A beautiful card from Kim Jabbour, a huge life update.
On Sunday, May 14, 2023, on the feast of St. Photini, I became Orthodox. I am happy, and excited for the future. I want to share this beautiful card my friend and godmother, Kim gave me:
Kim is an artist and is proficient in a lot of mediums, but she prefers oils and acrylics!
This icon of the Christ child and Mama Mary is in watercolour.
I also want to share this beautiful article written by Jonathan Pageau about icons depicting St. Photini.
Apart from that, I'm still keeping up with my #100daysofChalamet challenge. Here are a few entries:
(1) King Charles III. I wanted to make a watercolour portrait but I confess I haven’t had a lot of time.
(2) Another of Saoirse Ronan, I’m not sure what movie this is from. I struggle with her likeness.
(3) I am too embarrassed to say who this is supposed to be, but points to the correct guess lol
(5) the top is another Saoirse.
Our flowers are coming up now, and for that, I have to thank the previous owners of this house. I am so grateful for their garden and I wish we were better stewards of it! However, the flowers coming up means I will (hopefully) be painting flowers the next few days, and I’ve already taken a couple of pictures of the beautiful yellow tulips I got for Mother’s Day. I might put the portrait project on pause if that takes up my time, but I hope to still continue!
Hope you all had a happy weekend!
Mikhai
